Isn't It Annoying...

...When you enjoy an experience so much that you can't wait to try it again, but when you do try it again, you realize that the memory of the experience was (sadly) better than the real thing itself...!!!

* You didn't just imagine this. It really happens. Our brains are hard-wired to recollect past events in a better light than we actually experienced them. Cognitive scientists call this phenomena 'Rosy Retrospection' - basically things take on a rosy glow the longer they sit in our heads. This may be one reason we like reminiscing about old times the older we get....
* The corollary of this is: embrace the chance to experience something new. Even if you don't like it now, you're pretty likely to like it better in the future...
